Aug. 3- First United Methodist Block Party


First United Methodist Church will host the eighth annual Back to School Block Party.  

The Back to School Block Party is free to the public and will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday Aug. 3, at The CONNECT Gym at The Bennett Center, West 5th Street. 

This event is specifically for families in the community with school-age children (kindergarten through the eighth grade.) Of course, all persons are welcome. 

The block party will include — backpacks with school supplies provided, inflatable games, live music, free hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks, and a helicopter.

 This event is absolutely free to the public.

Now that school is out, what are your family’s summer vacation plans?

A. No major plans. We will probably hang out around Laurel County.
B. Going to the beach!
C. Kentucky has a lot of wonderful state parks, and we plan to visit a few and enjoy quality family time.
