Starting March 10- KSP hosting sixth Citizens Police Academy

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Kentucky State Police, Post 11 is now accepting applications for the 2014 Citizens Police Academy. The 11-week academy is slated to begin on Monday, March 10, and will conclude on Monday, May 19.  Students will meet on Monday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m. They will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. The academy will provide some hands on exercises and is meant for informational purposes only and will not give students police powers.  

The classes will be held at the Laurel County Health Department, located at 525 Whitley Street in London, Ky.  Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 at (606) 878-6622 or by visiting http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post11.htm.

Applications will be accepted until Monday, March 3.
