June 29- Patriotic concert at FBC London

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — The London Community Band will present its 13th annual patriotic concert at 7 p.m., Saturday, at First Baptist Church as part of Laurel County’s Independence Day celebrations.

The concert will consist of more than 70 instrumentalists from Laurel and surrounding counties. Performers range from young amateurs to retired professionals and everything in between.

The program will be directed by Musical Director Jack Walker of London and will consist of performances such as a “Salute to the Armed Forces,” “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” “American Salute,” and “Amazing Grace.”

There is no admission charge for the concert, which will last about an hour and will end before the fireworks show begins at College Park.

“The concert only lasts about an hour,” said Walker.  “We try to give people plenty of time to get to the fireworks show.”
