Feb. 25- Berea College’s Black Music Ensemble performs at Library

Staff Writer

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — In celebration of Black History Month, Berea College’s Black Music Ensemble will perform at the Laurel County Public Library on Monday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. This group presented a program at the library last year and gave such a positive, uplifting, and moving evening of music that they are being brought back for another performance.

The ensemble will sing from their extensive repertoire of spirituals, gospel music, anthems, and other sacred music by African-American composers. They are dedicated to the preservation and performance of African-American sacred music. The ensemble exemplifies Berea College’s commitment to provide an outlet through which students may express their faith and promote a spirit of community.

The program is free and open to the public.

Registration is appreciated for planning purposes. Register online at www.laurellibrary.org or call Gwen at 606-864-5759.
