LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Losing a couple hours of sleep a week may seem like no big deal but, over time, accumulated sleep loss can prove to be detrimental to your overall health. Kathryn Hansen, executive director of the Kentucky Sleep Society will provide a free program at the Laurel County Public Library on Thursday, June 20 from 6 to 7 p.m. to discuss the issues that accompany sleep loss.
Hansen is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and has studied at both the Mayo Clinic and the University of Colorado. She will bring to light how ongoing sleep loss is a serious health risk and how to make changes for a better night’s rest.
In addition, Hansen will help you identify indicators of inadequate sleep, as well as how to understand the consequences of untreated sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome. Accumulated sleep loss can have serious consequences effecting memory, mood and physical health.
A question and answer session will conclude the program.
