LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
The fifth annual Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel Festival will be held Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, at the Laurel County Fairgrounds under the shelter on Ky. 229.
Featured will be Marty Raybon (formerly of Shenandoah), The Chris Grigsby Band, The Freemans, The Cookes, The Barretts, The Grascals, The Lonesome River Band, The Issacs, Dean Osborne, Laurel River Line, James Jones & The Bluegrass Travelers, Mountain Drive, Pine Mountain Gospel Singers & Tidalwave Band.
Tickets, which will be sold at the gate, are $15 for one day, $25 for both days, and free for children 12 and under. All proceeds go directly to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Lexington. For advanced tickets, call Bobby Owens at 606-682-8277 or 606-864-7779.
On Friday, the bands will begin at noon and end at 10:45 p.m.; on Saturday, they will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 10:45 p.m.
The Shriner’s food and concessions’ booth will be in full swing with hot dogs, hamburgers, and more. There will be a free pig roast on Saturday.
Come out and enjoy the day and bring a chair if you wish. The shows will go on if it rains.
