LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Youth ages 5 and older are invited to the first of three Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs events on Tuesday, June 4.
Coordinated by the UNITE Laurel Coalition, Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs will take place at Heritage Hills in London on June 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
During this program, youth will learn all the skills necessary to fish safely, adopt fishing as a wholesome pastime, be empowered to develop positive lifestyles and gain new confidence. Children will be divided into three age groups: 5-8, 9-12 and 13 and up. Prizes will be given in each age group for the most fish caught and the biggest fish caught. If a child attends all three sessions, they will get to keep their fishing pole. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Parents, older siblings and anyone who likes to fish are encouraged to participate.
