October 5- Tri-County diabetes walk

On Saturday, Oct. 5 beginning at 10 a.m. at Baptist Family Fitness Center track the Type 1 Diabetes Support Group, in cooperation from the American Diabetes Association, will host the first ever “Tri-County Walk to Defeat Diabetes.”

The walk is to bring awareness to signs and symptoms of diabetes, type 1 and type 2, and raise money through donations to support the ADA’s search for a cure for diabetes. The ultimate goal is to raise $2,600 to represent the reported 26 million people living with diabetes.

There is no fee to enter the walk, however, donations will be accepted. Checks should be made out to the American Diabetes Association.  Donations can be made on the day of or prior to the walk by contacting Sherry Goodall at 606-231-3896.

All donations are tax deductible and will be sent to the ADA.

During the walk, there will be activities for children and families, such as face painting, balloon animals, a silent auction and a hot dog stand to help raise money for the ADA.
