The service of a search warrant at a residence on Bolton Ridge Road, nine miles south of London, around 10 a.m. resulted in the arrest of a 61-year-old Corbin man on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Special Response Unit (SRU), commanded by Capt. Rodney Van Zant, executed the warrant after an undercover investigation into Dewey Bowling Jr. selling Oxycodone on two occasions. Deputies confiscated firearms, cash, and numerous prescription medications. Bowling was arrested on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, less than 10 dosage units of opiates, first offense, and is held in the Laurel County Detention Center under a $20,000 surety bond. He is set for a court hearing today, December 27.

Deputies assisting in the service of the search warrant at Bowling’s residence were Lt. Chuck Johnson, Sgt. Brett Reeves, Deputy Josh Scott and Deputy Tyler Morris. Two investigators — Deputy James Sizemore and Detective Jason Back — were also on the scene.
