Wanted woman arrested

Failing to appear in court may delay some punishment for legal offenses, but Laurel County Sheriff’s officials are persistent in serving outstanding warrants.

Such was the case early Monday morning, when Deputy Tyler Morris arrested 44-year-old Cynthia Pendergrass. Pendergrass had two outstanding warrants for public intoxication of a controlled substance.

Morris served the warrants and made the arrest at 1:15 a.m. on S and A Lane, three miles west of London. Pendergrass was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center and arraigned on the warrants on Monday in Laurel District Court.
