Inmate carves door in Judicial Center

An inmate scheduled for a court hearing was charged with criminal mischief last week for using his handcuffs to carve into the door of a holding cell.

Zachary T. Bowling, 19, of County Farm Road in London, was awaiting a sentencing hearing on charges of possession of a controlled substance on Sept. 5. He was indicted in October in a six-count indictment that included the possession charges, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence, driving on a revoked or suspended license, and traffic offenses.

In addition, he was indicted again in November for two counts each of possession of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed weapon, although jail records indicate that all those charges were dismissed.
