Shoplifters arrested at Walmart

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Parrott arrested Andrew D. Jackson, 27, of Hanes Baker Road, Corbin, on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 4:28 p.m. at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County.

He was charged with shoplifting after Walmart’s Loss Prevention Team detained him after he requested a fraudulent refund for  items he allegedly took in the store, took to the service desk and received a refund. Jackson was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

The next day, on Wednesday, Jan. 1, Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Berry arrested Jerry Engle, 25, of Ruggles Street, Corbin, at 3:13 p.m. at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County.

He was charged with shoplifting after Walmart’s Loss Prevention Team detained him after he was observed taking a soldering iron and solder worth $8.14 without paying for them.

He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
