Gray, Ky. couple arrested for public intoxication at Golden Corral

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A Gray, Ky., couple was arrested at Golden Corral restaurant, off Hwy. 192, for public intoxication.

Earnest A. and Christine McIntyre, of 7132 Hwy. 6, were arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, public intoxication, third-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

London Police officers responded to a public complaint of two people with a small child who were notably under the influence of drugs.  Officers approached Earnest McIntyre sitting at a table.  He appeared to be under the influence of pain medication.  Christine McIntyre and the child were in the restroom at the time.

According to police, Earnest A. McIntyre was in possession of 29 Oxycodone pills, two Xanax pills, and five cut straws with white powder inside.

Christine McIntyre returned with the child from the restroom with slurred speech and unsteady feet, officers reported.  In addition, they noticed white powder residue in her nostril.  Officers located five syringes and two clear straws, one of which contained white powder residue, on Christine McIntyre.

They were arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

London Police Sgt. Danny Robinson is continuing the investigation. More charges are pending.
