LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
A complaint of a loud party that involved underage persons sent Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Morris and Deputy Shawn Boroviak to East Ky. 552, 10 miles south of London, around 11 p.m. Saturday. But when deputies pulled up at the house where the alleged party was occurring, they saw several subjects run into the woods.
After searching the area, the deputies located those who fled the scene, including some teens who were under the legal age to drink alcohol. All in all, three males and three females who were under age 21 were located, as well as the residents of the home, who were charged with unlawful transaction with a minor. Five people were arrested and one juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct and scheduled for juvenile court proceedings. The females involved included a 17-year-old and two 16-year-olds.
The couple who allowed the underage drinking were identified as 23-year-old Nicholas D. Lucas and 23-year-old Jessica R. Lucas, both of whom were charged with third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. Michael E. Hammack, 19, of Billboard Road in Corbin, 18-year-old Christopher T. Burkhart of East Ky. 552 in London, and 18-year-old Jonathan Arnold of DeFoore Road in Resca, Ga., were all charged with alcohol intoxication. The three female juveniles were released to their parents.
The Lucases and the three males were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center following their arrests.
