Man arrested for fleeing police on foot

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Mikey Ashurst arrested a male subject after he fled into the woods on foot after seeing the deputy’s cruiser.

After a 30 minute search off Ky. 3434, six miles north of London, early Tuesday morning at 2:16 a.m., the subject was located lying facedown beside a tree, and was determined to be under the influence. Arrested was Eric E. Allen, 22, of Pittsburg, who was charged with public intoxication- controlled substance; fleeing and evading police (on foot), and resisting arrest.

Allen told officers he had smoked methamphetamine and marijuana. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Deputy Tyler Morris and the Kentucky State Police assisted on the search and arrest.
