Two arrested at Judicial Center

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Laurel County Sheriff’s Bailiff Dianna Watson arrested Matthew K. Powell, 27, of Holly Grove Road in Corbin at the Laurel Judicial Center in London on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 12:59 p.m., charging him on two Laurel District Court warrants of arrest — one for harassing communications, and one for fourth-degree assault. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

The next day at 9:50 a.m., Laurel County Sheriff’s Bailiff’s Corporal Derrick Price arrested Christopher Lee Bailey, 33, of Hospital Circle, Guin, Ala., and Old Farm Road, Cannon, Ky., after pills were found in his possession as he went through the security screening area of the Laurel County Judicial Center. Court Security Officer Robert Smith discovered the pills in a small cylinder container. Corporal Price charged Bailey with prescription controlled substances not in its original container, first offense; and second-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
