LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Laurel County Sheriff’s officials have released surveillance photos in hopes of catching the man who robbed a south Laurel BP/Krystal twice last week.
Deputy and Public Affairs Officer Gilbert Acciardo said investigators are currently “interviewing persons of interest” in the case.
“We’ve sent the photos to the newspapers and posted videos on TV and on our (Laurel County Sheriff’s Office) Facebook page,” Acciardo said. “We’re hoping that someone will give us information that will help in apprehending the suspect or suspects in this case.”
The south Laurel BP/Krystal on Ky. 770, just off the I-75 Exit 29, was hit not once, but twice in a three-day period by the man described as a white male between the ages of 40 and 50 with a gray beard, weighing between 200 and 210 pounds. In the first robbery, which took place on Friday, March 22 around 8:40 p.m., the robber entered the store with a semi-automatic pistol and demanded money from the clerk on duty. The clerk reported the man was wearing a blue hoodie, cap, blue jeans, flip flops and socks.
The second robbery came on Monday night, March 25, just after 10 p.m., when a white male entered the store with a semi-automatic pistol, demanded money from the clerk, and fled on foot.
The same clerk who was on duty on Friday night when the first robbery occurred was on duty Monday.
