Family fight occurs on Mullins Road

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Parrott, along with Deputy Daniel Grigsby and Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter, were dispatched to a complaint of family members physically fighting at a residence on Mullins Road, eight miles east of London, on Monday, Oct. 7 at 3:34 p.m., and that guns may be involved.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they encountered two male subjects, both who appeared to be intoxicated, and one confronted deputies on the porch, grabbing one deputy before being arrested. He was identified as Alex Smallwood, 34, of Hopper Creek Road, London. Smallwood was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, alcohol intoxication, menacing, and resisting arrest.

Another male subject was so intoxicated he fell off the porch, and posed a danger to himself. George L. Williams, 52,  of Mullins Road, London, was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication. Both men were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Constable Tim May assisted at the scene.
