Intoxicated man arrested at Dollar General

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — An intoxicated man was reported to be inside the Lily Dollar General Store, five miles south of London.  Laurel County Sheriff’s Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter was dispatched to the complaint on Wednesday, May 22 at 9:13 p.m.  

Poynter was told that an intoxicated male subject was inside the store and had the store clerk’s phone and would not give it back. When Sgt. Poynter arrived at the scene, he found Richard A. Nowak, 22, of Stephanie Circle, Summerville, S.C.,  hiding in the store’s bathroom, and arrested him.

Nowak was charged with public intoxication of controlled substances, and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
