Mouthwash not effective against profanities

The fresh breath from two days of drinking mouthwash was not effective in halting profanities and yelling from a Laurel resident this week.

Even from 200 feet away, the profanities and yelling of an intoxicated woman along Ravenwood View on Monday afternoon resulted in a call to Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Parrott, who went to the scene, after Laurel 9-1-1 Dispatch logged in a complaint of a domestic violence situation.

Parrott allegedly could hear the woman yelling when he parked his car some distance from the residence. As Parrott investigated the scene, he found 56-year-old Kathy Renfro of Ravenwood View on the back porch. Renfro appeared to be very intoxicated and told Parrott she had been drinking Listerine mouthwash for the past two days.

Renfro was arrested for alcohol intoxication and disorderly conduct and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
