LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
A fight that involved several people resulted in minor injuries and an arrest in the early morning hours on Saturday.
Chadd Martin, 26, of Byrley Road in Corbin faces charges of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, as well as being served with a bench warrant from Knox County.
The press release from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office indicates Martin was involved in a physical altercation with several persons, including a female. He is also accused of hitting the woman’s brother who tried to defend his sister during that altercation.
Deputy Kevin Berry and Deputy Josh Scott went to the scene on Byrley Road, 13 miles south of London, around 2:15 a.m. after receiving a call that one male was armed with a knife during the dispute. The deputies, assisted by Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Sgt. Greg Reams, were met at the roadway of the residence by a male and female who said Martin had assaulted several people inside the residence.
When going inside the home, the officers saw the female had red marks on her arm, bruising on her left ear and bruising on both eyes. Officers also noted that a vehicle parked in the driveway had had all four tires flattened — an act that was allegedly blamed on Martin.
He was arrested for fourth-degree assault and an active bench warrant from Knox County.
