Fugitive arrested

Ohio man caught on traffic violations

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A wanted man from Ohio was arrested Tuesday after a routine traffic stop for improper lane usage.

Officer Duffy Sutton of the Kentucky State Police Vehicle Enforcement conducted the traffic stop on Interstate 75-North near mile marker 43.

Theodore Nix III, 46 of Toledo, Ohio was charged with improper lane usage – vehicles keep to the right except to pass; operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license; giving an officer a false name or address; prescription of a controlled substance not in proper container, first offense, three counts; possession of marijuana; drug paraphernalia –buy/possess; fugitive from another state (warrant not required).

Upon speaking to Nix, Officer Sutton discovered he had given him a false name and did not possess a valid license.  Nix gave officers consent to search his vehicle, at which time officers found several types of drugs.

Nix was arrested without incident and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
