Assault on Sweet Hollow Road

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Grimes is investigating a reported assault that allegedly occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 26 on Sweet Hollow Road, nine miles south of London.

The victim, who resides in an apartment complex on Sweet Hollow Road, reported he had been asleep, and upon waking up noticed items belonging to him missing. His sister, brother-in-law and other persons were present in the apartment when the victim’s items went missing. An argument occurred over the missing items and, as the victim was leaving the residence, he was struck over the head with a baseball bat by someone.

The victim was transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.

Investigation into the incident is continuing.
