Woman robbed in parking lot

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A London man was arrested after he allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint in a store parking lot on Sunday night.

James Peters, 27, of London, was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center on charges of second-degree robbery and having a prescription medication not in its proper container.

Information from the Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London states the female victim was in the parking lot of Ape Yard Market on Ky. 490 in East Bernstadt just before 9 p.m. Peters, armed with a gun, demanded money from the victim. The woman gave the man some money and he fled the scene. The woman was unhurt.

KSP Trooper Chris Roberts is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by Trooper Donnie Foley.
