Man arrested after domestic dispute injures child

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Domestic disputes often become violent, as depicted by an argument between a couple residing on Fount Hubbard Road in the Hawk Creek community, seven miles west of London, on Thursday night.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Grimes answered the call of the domestic dispute around 8 p.m., which revealed a man and his girlfriend had been arguing when the man threw a TV remote at her. But his aim was off-center and instead of hitting his girlfriend, the remote instead struck the female’s 2-year-old chid in the head.

Daniel B. Mason of Laurel River Road in London was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Jail records, however, list Mason with additional charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer and possession of marijuana, although the details of those charges were not available.
