London man accused of stealing from Special Olympics bin

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

A London man was arrested following allegations that he stole items from a Special Olympics donation bin.

Around 1:15 a.m. Thursday, workers at Ott Grocery, located  about seven miles west of London, saw Gary Patton, 49 of London, allegedly taking items from a Special Olympics donation bin.

Laurel Deputy Shawn Boroviak  arrested Patton on Hawk Creek Road and lodged him in the Laurel County Detention Center an hour after the incident. Patton was charged with theft by unlawful taking, under $500, and driving on a DUI suspended license, first offense.
