London man arrested for burglary

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — On Sunday, Nov. 18, London Police Officer Justin Hopkins responded to a call of assistance from Kentucky State Police Trooper Stacy Walker and was dispatched to a call at 135 Miller Lane for a disturbance.  

Johnny D. Brown, 39, of 1471 Pine Grove School in London, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree fleeing and evading law enforcement, theft of a firearm, theft under $500 and second-degree criminal mischief.

According to the police report, Brown entered a residence, stole a handgun and other items  and fled the scene.  

Officer Hopkins arrived on the scene with Trooper Walker when they discovered a blue Chevrolet Cavalier exiting from Miller Lane, driven by Brown.  Brown drove through several streets and residential yards, attempting to hide from law enforcement, and finally parked behind Victory Baptist Church where he was located.

Officer Hopkins recovered a .38 caliber Rossi revolver handgun under the rear seat of Brown's vehicle.  

Officers assisting at the scene included Jacob Bormann and Justin Roby.
