LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
While most people are doing their Christmas shopping, others continue to do their shoplifting.
Three people were arrested for shoplifting at area stores recently, beginning with the arrest of 23-year-old Kayla Robbins of Grammer Lane in Wallens last Thursday. A business 10 miles south of London complained of a shoplifter in their store and contacted police around 5 p.m. Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter also determined Robbins was under the influence. She was charged with theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting) and public intoxication.
Two other persons seeking to obtain merchandise without paying for it landed in jail last Friday after they tried to steal merchandise from a store about 10 miles south of London around 4:30 p.m. Arrested was 33-year-old Sonya M. Cole of Black Diamond Road in Corbin, on charges of theft by unlawful taking — shoplifting and one outstanding warrant.
Joining Cole was 40-year-old Lonzo Mills of Howser Street in Corbin, charged with theft by unlawful taking, shoplifting, and four outstanding warrants. Both were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
