LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

A buzz from Xanax pills took a turn for the worse after two persons were involved in an argument and landed in jail on Saturday.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies Larry Parrott and Robbie Grimes braved the snowy weather to answer a call of a domestic dispute on McWhorter Road, four miles east of London, around 2:56 p.m. Once at the scene, witnesses told deputies that 30-year-old Jackie Bowling of McWhorter Road in London had been in an argument with his girlfriend, 46-year-old Darla Hurley of West Ky. 1376 in East Bernstadt. The two had allegedly been shoving one another during an argument.

Bowling told deputies he had snorted Xanax pills earlier in the day. He and Hurley were both arrested on charges of public intoxication of controlled substances and fourth-degree assault. They were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center following their arrests.
