LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
A man who had several outstanding warrants was arrested Wednesday after he was found to be in possession of prescription pills.
Court security officers located and seized a tube with various yellow and black pills from Douglas Walter Ray Adams of Twin Oaks Way in Dandridge, Tenn., as he went through the check-in of the Laurel County Judicial Center on Wednesday.
When a check on Adams was run through Laurel Dispatch, it was then discovered Adams had warrants for possession charges and theft and traffic violations in Tennessee. Adams is also wanted on five other warrants in Laurel County pertaining to theft (shoplifting) and public intoxication from 2008, receiving stolen property, criminal trespassing and traffic violations. In 2006, he was charged with being a fugitive.
Adams was served with all outstanding warrants and taken to the Laurel County Detention Center. He will face all local charges before being extradited to Tennessee on charges there. He will be arraigned in Laurel District Court on Friday. No bond is listed for Adams at press time on Thursday morning.
