LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

A man wanted in three counties was one of two men arrested Saturday night following a routine traffic stop.

The arrests came after Deputies Robbie Grimes, Larry Parrott and Tyler Morris stopped a black Crown Victoria car on Queen Street, 15 miles south of London, at 8:14 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle, 50-year-old Edward M. Steele Jr. of Underpass Loop in Lily, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

But a check of his passenger, 51-year-old Robert L. Brummett of Sweet Hollow Road in Corbin showed Brummett was wanted in both Laurel and Knox counties on a variety of charges.

Brummett was listed as a wanted person in Knox County for bench warrants for alcohol intoxication, second-degree wanton endangerment, and alcohol intoxication. In Laurel County, Brummett had warrants for public intoxication, alcohol intoxication and possession of marijuana, with warrants in Madison County for alcohol intoxication.

Both men were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center after their arrests.
