LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
A man who failed to appear in court on drug charges, and for whom an active warrant was issued, was arrested Friday afternoon.
Laurel County Sheriff’s Detective/U.S. Marshall Warrant Task Force Office Jason Back located and arrested 36-year-old James Creech of Cheek Turner Road in London at 1:15 p.m. Creech was wanted on a bench warrant for first-degree bailjumping stemming from two previous drug charges. Those charges came on Nov. 16, 2012 for trafficking in a controlled substance and he was released three days later on a $1,000 surety bond, according to jail records. Creech was arrested on a warrant on Feb. 19, but spent only 30 minutes in jail and was released after paying $183 cash.
The latest arrest shows Creech has an Aug. 30 court date and no bond is listed, according to records from the Laurel County jail’s website.
