Man steals, resells baby formula

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Scott arrested Christopher W. Johnson, 35, of Davenport Lane, London on Monday, Dec. 16 at 5:02 p.m. following his investigation into a shoplifting complaint.

Allegedly Johnson was seen leaving Lily Shopping Cart in a black car, and store personnel were able to get a license tag off the vehicle as it drove away. Deputy Scott was able to track the vehicle and its occupant down. Johnson had apparently stolen more than $500 worth of baby formula and sold it for $125. He told Deputy Scott he was supporting an addiction problem. Johnson was also charged with an outstanding bench warrant of arrest for flagrant non support. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
