Crash leads to DUI arrest

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Laurel County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Berry was dispatched to a single vehicle traffic crash on U.S. 25, 13 miles south of London, Sunday at 4:40 a.m. involving a white Chevrolet Trail Blazer.

Colonel Golden, 36, of Turkey Creek Road, in Barbourville, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and numerous other traffic related violations.

When Deputy Berry arrived at the scene, he located Golden inside the vehicle and conducted an investigation, determining the driver was under the influence.

Golden told the deputy that his wife may have slipped him something while he was sleeping.

He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
