LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
The man who suffered burns to his head and face is now under investigation.
Roger Isom, 30, of Taylor Circle in London, came to a business on Ky. 490, four miles north of London, on Saturday night. The man, then unidentified, said someone had thrown ‘liquid fire’ into his face, causing severe burns to his head and face. The incident reportedly happened on Ky. 30.
However, the man’s story was suspect and officials with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office could not confirm the information. The man’s burns were consistent with someone who had been involved in a meth lab explosion. He was taken to Saint Joseph London, where emergency room officials told police the burns were similar to wounds caused by an exploding meth lab.
Isom was reportedly very uncooperative during the investigation. He is now the focus of an investigation regarding manufacturing methamphetamine.
Isom was recently released from prison on a six-year sentence for robbery.
The investigation into the incident is being continued by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
