Whitley County inmate escapes from work detail

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A Whitley County escapee was discovered on Monday by the London Police Department.  Shannon Wynn, 34, of Corbin escaped from Whitley County jail work detail and was seen walking west on Ky. 192.

At 9:54 a.m., officers responded and stopped a subject matching Wynn's description. Wynn was taken into custody and released to the Whitley County Captain Steve Lundy at 11 a.m.

Wynn's charges includes first-degree possession of methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, buying or possessing drug paraphernalia, endangering the welfare of a minor, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, parole violation of a felony offense, non-payment of fines, and second-degree escape.

Officers involved in the search and arrest include Sgt. Daniel Robinson, Sgt. Travis Hurley, K9 Officer Shannon Morgan and Chief Stewart Walker.
