Drugs seized at Judicial Center

The procedure of emptying your pockets upon entering the Laurel Judicial Center landed a man in jail when he was found in possession of pills.

Court security officer (CSO) Paige Vanhook and Corporal Derrick Price arrested 30-year-old Joshua Paul of Forego Trail in Corbin at 9 a.m. Thursday. Paul was attempting to enter the judicial center complex when officers at the front entrance discovered some suspected Xanax at the security screening point. Paul was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center after his arrest.
