LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — An argument that became violent landed a Laurel man in jail and a  juvenile in custody of a guardian Wednesday evening.

Scott M. Seeley, 43, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault and third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with fourth-degree assault and alcohol intoxication in a public place. Both were treated at the scene for their injuries by EMTs from Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter and Deputy Greg Turner responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m. on Sinking Creek Road, six miles west of London. A man and a juvenile were fighting each other. On arrival to the scene, the two males had separated but both showed visible injuries from the altercation.

Through the investigation, deputies learned Seeley and the juvenile had been drinking and began arguing. The argument became physical and deputies were called to the scene.

Because one of the parties involved in the fight was a juvenile, representatives from the Cabinet for Families and Children were called and conducted an investigation. The juvenile was charged by deputies and released to the custody of his guardian.
