LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A Corbin man faces various charges after he was involved in a shoplifting incident with a Jellico woman last week.

Justin S. Hamblin, 24, of Flatwood Frozen Camp Road, was outside the Corbin Walmart store while his female companion, 21-year-old Autumn C. Parrott, of High Cliff Road in Jellico, Tenn., was inside the store. Laurel County Sheriff’s Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter and Deputy Robbie Grimes went to the scene where Parrott was being detained for shoplifting.

But when Grimes located Hamblin outside the store, the Corbin man fled the scene but was apprehended and placed under arrest. Hamblin was charged with theft by unlawful taking — shoplifting, fleeing or evading police on foot, and public intoxication. He was also charged with failing to appear in court in Laurel County.

Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center after their arrests.
