A Corbin woman was arrested at Walmart on Thursday evening for prostitution.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Parrott was called to the Corbin Walmart store just before 6 p.m. after receiving a complaint about a woman who was offering to trade sex for money to truck drivers in the store parking lot. The store is located on South Stewart Road, 11 miles south of London.

But when Parrott arrived at the scene, the woman was gone. Parrott, however, located her at a neighboring business and observed that she was apparently under the influence.

Misty Johnson, 32, of Robert E. Cox Road in Corbin, was arrested and taken to the Laurel County Detention Center on charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place and prostitution. At the jail, Johnson received additional charges after a female deputy jailer found marijuana in her underclothes as well as marijuana and rolling papers in her purse. She was then charged with first-degree promoting contraband, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
