LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Grimes investigated a burglary that allegedly occurred on Philpot Road, four miles west of  London on Tuesday, Oct. 22 where a television and DVD player were reported stolen from a residence.

Later in the day, at approximately 10 p.m., the victim, Crystal Colwell, and her boyfriend, Chris Robinson, called deputies to report she had located items stolen from her home in a parked Chevy Lumina in a driveway of an acquaintance on Hensley Road, eight miles north of London. The victims agreed to meet deputies at the end of a long driveway to show them where the car was located.

Before deputies could arrive at the scene, Colwell’s sister, Amanda Colwell tried to leave the area in that same vehicle, reportedly striking Chris Robinson, who was standing at the end of the drive. When Deputy Grimes and Deputy Shawn Boroviak arrived at the scene, they arrested Amanda Colwell without incident.

Amanda Colwell, 27, of Hazel Patch Road, East Bernstadt was charged with second-degree burglary; first-degree wanton endangerment; and second-degree assault. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Chris Robinson was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Saint Joseph London for treatment of possible injuries.
