Shoplifters arrested at Walmart

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies Larry Parrott and Robbie Grimes were dispatched by Laurel 9-1-1 to a complaint of shoplifters detained by Walmart’s Loss Prevention Team on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 3:15 p.m. in southern Laurel County.

When deputies arrived to investigate, they learned two females had apparently taken items from the store without paying for them, and were stopped in the vestibule and detained until deputies arrived.

Janet E. Waters, 40, and Sarah E. Kidd, 43, both of Pine Knot were arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting). Waters allegedly was taking items from their original containers and placing them in her purse. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
