LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Parrott responded to a complaint that an extremely intoxicated individual had wrecked his ATV on Laurel Branch Road, 12 miles north of London on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 7:03 p.m.

Rob R. Gilbert, 35, of West Highway 1376, East Bernstadt, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and failure to comply with a helmet law.

When Deputy Parrott arrived at the scene, he observed Gilbert on his ATV on a steep embankment. As Deputy Parrott investigated, he learned from Gilbert that he had been drinking moonshine, beer, and whiskey for a reported four days in a row. Gilbert further stated he lost control of his ATV and ran over the embankment into the ditch.

Gilbert was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
