Corner Market thieves escape

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Two thieves were nearly caught in the act, but managed to escape when a store owner arrived and scared them away.

Police are now seeking information on the two men who burglarized and robbed Corner Market on Ky. 830, 10 miles south of London, around 11:45 p.m. Monday night.

The first man is described as a white male around 5’11” tall, weighing 160 pounds and wearing a dark hooded sweat shirt and a beanie hat, and has a bushy beard. The second man is a white male approximately 5’8” tall, weighing 130 pounds. He was wearing a dark red jacket.

The two men broke the glass in the front door of the store to get inside, and took cigarettes and cash. The store owner, who lives in the same building, arrived home and noticed the broken glass in the door, then saw the two men run out the front door, carrying white garbage bags presumed to contain the stolen items.

The two men fled the scene on foot.
