London man hits passenger inside moving vehicle

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Laurel County Sheriff’s Senior Sgt. Greg Poynter and Deputy Robbie Grimes were dispatched to American Greeting Card Road, 10 miles south of London, Friday at 3:09 p.m. following a complaint of a male fighting and slapping his passenger inside a moving vehicle.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they learned the vehicle had pulled off into a business parking lot, and Garrett W. Turner, 53, of Maple Grove School Road had grabbed his passenger, threw her on the ground and slapped her in the face. The press release stated the passenger was also Turner’s girlfriend.

Turner was charged with fourth-degree assault and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
