LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
A jaunt down the former north-south highway resulted in the arrest of a wanted person on Wednesday.
Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Milton Storm responded to a call of a person walking in the roadway of east U.S. 25, 10 miles south of London, around 11:35 a.m. Upon arrival to the scene, his investigation revealed that the female — 30-year-old Jamie D. Ellison of Rush Road in London — had numerous warrants against her from Knox and Bell counties. The warrants included failure to appear in court on charges of fourth-degree assault, disorderly conduct and public intoxication of controlled substances.
But the situation took another turn while Storm was placing Ellison under arrest when he discovered that Ellison had a syringe in her possession. According to the press release from the Laurel Sheriff’s Office, Ellison then admitted that she had used the syringe to inject Roxycets. She was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
