LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Fugitive sex offender Zakrey R. Burritt, of Coldwater, Mich., was arrested by the London Police Department on Wednesday.
Burritt, 18, was charged with being a fugitive from another state; failure to comply with sex offender registration; local warrant for shoplifting; and second-degree fleeing or evading police.
Through investigation, police discovered Burritt relocated to London, obtained a job, but failed to comply with the sex offender registry. Police visited Burritt’s alleged residence at 125 Schell Road in London, which was a false address.
In an attempt to locate him, Detective Joe Smith and Officer Eric Stallard visited his workplace, Robinson Stave Company. While officers gained information from Burritt’s employer about his whereabouts, he reportedly fled out the rear of the building.
The police began a pursuit on foot.
London Police Department surrounded Burritt in a wooded area, and he was subsequently arrested without incident.
