LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
London Police officers received a burglary complaint on Tuesday, April 2 at 3 p.m. on Barbourville Road that led to the arrest of Hank Vaughn, 21, of East Bernstadt.
Vaughn was charged with second-degree burglary.
The caller stated a burglar had entered his home through an unlocked door, stolen items including an Xbox controller and several video games, left the residence, and called back to the residence. Officer Ryan Jackson said the victim stated the suspect (identified as Vaughn) said he would bring the items back to the owner so long as the police were not there.
A Brown Chevy Blazer then pulled into the victim’s driveway, and fled at a high rate of speed after noticing Officer Jackson.
Police were able to stop Vaughn approximately half of a mile outside of city limits on Barbourville Road. During a search of the vehicle, all stolen items were located.
It was later discovered Vaughn had attempted to sell the Xbox items to a pawn shop on Ky. 192. Vaughn stated the victim owed him $250.
