London men arrested for trafficking in pills

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Two London men were arrested Thursday after they were found with large quantities of Oxycodone tablets.

John L. Thompson, 33, of Waterworks Road, and Michael Osborne, 31, of Spring Street, both in London, were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

Over the last few months of investigation, Detective Jimmy Phelps of the London Police Department discovered more than 1,000 Oxycodone tablets a week were being delivered to a residence in London where the pills were being sold.

With the assistance of the D.E.A., additional arrests were made in northern Kentucky.  Approximately 1,200 Oxycodone tablets, 400 Xanax tablets, and $60,000 in cash were seized.

Phelps is the investigating officer and is continuing the local investigation.

Assisting Phelps in the investigation were Detective Allen Harris, Chief Stewart Walker, Detective Stacy Anderkin, Sgt. Joe Smith, Officer Eric Stallard and Officer Shannon Morgan.
