LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Red marks around a woman’s neck were the tell-all signs of a physical confrontation between a couple, sending the man to jail for domestic violence.
Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Parrott answered the call of a domestic disturbance on Ky. 770, nine miles south of London, around 2:40 p.m. Sunday. Even from the parking lot, Parrott could hear the couple arguing but when he went inside the residence, he saw the red marks on the female’s neck.
Larry T. Stephenson, 21, of Hwy. 770 Apartments in Corbin, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. He was also charged with a Whitley County warrant for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center and arraigned in Laurel District Court on Monday. Stephenson remains jailed under a $25,000 surety bond and is set to appear in court again on May 14.
